Terms of Service

These terms set out the agreement between you and MIQ Innovations for use of the izzipay payment service. This page is a plain summary written for clarity and is not legal advice. A signed agreement governs any production account.

1. Who we are

izzipay is a payment service operated by MIQ Innovations, based in Accra, Ghana. It lets approved applications accept mobile money and card payments through a single interface. By creating an account or sending a request to our API, you agree to these terms.

2. Your account

You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account and for keeping your API keys secret. If you believe a key has been exposed, rotate it in the admin portal and tell us right away. We may suspend an account that shows signs of fraud or that puts the service or its users at risk.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use izzipay to:

  • Accept payments for anything unlawful under Ghanaian law.
  • Process payments you are not authorised to collect.
  • Attempt to break, overload, or reverse engineer the service.
  • Disguise the true nature of a transaction or the parties involved.

4. Payments and money

Amounts are handled in integer pesewas and settle in Ghana cedis. Funds collected on behalf of a buyer are held as a liability owed to you and are never treated as our revenue. Fees are netted from each successful payment and shown on every transaction in the admin portal. We do not apply an e levy, which was repealed in Ghana in April 2025.

5. Refunds and chargebacks

You can refund a payment in full or in part through the API or the admin portal, subject to the rules of the underlying provider. You are responsible for resolving disputes with your buyers and for any amounts reversed through a provider.

6. Availability

We work hard to keep the service running, with routing and fallback designed to keep checkout open when a single provider has trouble. Even so, the service is provided as is, and we cannot promise it will never be interrupted. Planned maintenance is communicated in advance where we can.

7. Liability

To the extent the law allows, MIQ Innovations is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Ghanaian law.

8. Changes

We may update these terms as the service grows. When we make a material change we will update the date at the top of this page and, for production accounts, give reasonable notice. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.

9. Contact

Questions about these terms are welcome. Write to us at hello@izzipaygh.com and we will get back to you.
